CAVALIER CRITERIUM

**Event Date and Time: **Saturday, April 25th, 9AM - 5PM

**Registration: **The registration table will be found in the parking area. Day-of registration is available until 30 minutes prior to your categories start time. There will be a $10 fee applied for onsite registration. Entry fee includes $5.99 USAC and $2.50 ACCC fees where applicable. No mail entries are accepted. One-day licenses are available on BikeReg.com at the time of registration. All riders must have an annual or one-day license. No refunds. Race runs rain or shine.

**Course: **This course is an epic ¾ mi loop around Scott Stadium, same as last year. We start in the West lot of Scott Stadium before making our way up to Alderman Road, entering via a left-hander onto Whitehead. The course weaves along Scott Stadium in the counterclockwise direction, making a left in front of the fitness center. From there, the race flies down Alderman Road, taking a wide left into the parking lot, navigating a right/left chicane before the road opens up 200m before the slight uphill finish. This course will feature full-road closure.

**Medical: **We will have an EMT on site all day, who will be located next to the registration area. Additionally, the race location is five minutes away from the UVA Hospital.

**Podiums: **Podiums will be located next to registration, and the podiums and prizes will go three deep. Please see the schedule for the times of the podiums following the race. Given this is the ACCC Championship race, the ACCC full-season podiums will also take place following the respective collegiate races.

**Event Rules: **All USAC mass start rules apply. All riders are required to wear helmets when on their bike while racing or not, failure to do so can result in disqualification.

Pit/Free Laps: In the event of a recognized mishap (flat tire, broken essential component, or crash) riders may be granted a free lap. The pit is located near the start/finish line. Riders have one lap to make it to the pit and resume racing. Riders must supply their equipment in the pit. Riders may cut the course to make it to the pit.
Pulled/Lapped Rider Policy: Because of the technical nature of this course the fields may break up quickly. If you are dropped and pose a danger to riders that are or will lap you then you will be pulled by the officials. Riders are not guaranteed a minimum number of laps and can be pulled at any time if they are out of contention. Please do not argue with the officials about their decision, their jobs are hard enough. If you find yourself lapped the best thing to do is to remain out of the way of passing riders as best as possible.
