First and foremost, thank you for supporting the Brandywine Valley Roubaix (BVR).  The 11th year for this awesome gravel event!

This Gravel Grinder / Gran Fondo / Group Ride will take riders through the scenic country-side and rolling hills of the Brandywine Valley, some of the most unspoiled and historic countryside of the Mid-Atlantic.  The course is suited for gravel, cyclocross, mtn, and road bikes (min 28 mm tires).

As with past years, the BVR will be a self-paced event - not a mass start GROUP Ride.  The event starting window is between 8:00 and 9:00 AM Sunday morning.  Start as an individual and/or with only your travel partners/friends any time between 8 and 9.  Upon arrival, gear up and head out on the course…there is no “official” start.  We have multiple, close by parking venues in addition to the main lot, so if the main lot is full…use another lot. These locations are listed below, see maps and links.

Be self-sufficient – Bring your own, water, food, suntan lotion, hand sanitizer, tubes/tools/pump.  Porta-Potties will be at main lot, but please use the facilities before you get there if possible.  Don’t forget about the pizza and beer party after the ride.  Stop back at the registration area for some well deserved refreshments.  Also feel free to bring your own food and drink and hang out with your fellow BVR riders.  PLEASE be sure to clean up after yourselves, and if you see trash laying around, please help out and pick it up.  We do not want to lose our party and parking venues because of careless littering.

Primary registration is 100% online.  **You must sign the release via BikeReg option. ** If you didn’t sign it when you initially registered, you will receive an email with a link to complete the process. If you do not complete the online release, you cannot participate.  We will be offering limited “day of” registration beginning at 7:30AM, cost will be $50. This year, we will have a Rest Stop on Runnymede Road, about a mile or so before The Whip Tavern, as always it will be stocked with the essentials you need to fuel up and take a break.

Course Directions - Maps, GPS files will be posted below…on or before Friday June 19th.

The course is also marked the good old fashioned way, with road paint and directional signs.  So if in doubt look for the arrows.

As with all previous WCCX events a portion of the proceeds will benefit two local charities.  Quest Therapeutics** **(www.questtherapeutic.com) is an equestrian facility utilizing horse riding to provide therapy for children with physical and developmental challenges.  Our second charity is the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Mountain Bike Association (www.pamtb.org), a grass-roots organization developing high and middle school mountain bike programs in our immediate area.

The BVR is a self supported ride as a result, all riders are responsible for their own mechanical support.  A feed stop and facilities will be located at approximately mile marker 34, on Runnymede road, about one mile before reaching the historic Whip Tavern (thewhiptavern.com).

Hope you can make it out and please spread the word.
