Raid des Pénitents

The Raid of the Penitents is up to 170 km of pure bliss for true mountain biking enthusiasts. A linear route of 90 km that begins at Roc la Tour (Monthermé, France) and concludes in Herbeumont. Between the two, climbs that quicken the heartbeat, exhilarating descents, endless single tracks, stunning trails, and for some, very technical paths. Once in Herbeumont, you will still have the opportunity to extend your enjoyment with four loops totalling 80 km.

Belgium, a flat country…? Not in our case! With its 5650 metres (!) of positive elevation gain, the Raid of the Penitents is the most physically demanding and technical mountain biking event in Belgium and its surroundings. But here, there are no time trials, no grand marquees, and exhibitors everywhere. Indeed, the Raid of the Penitents is for bikers who cherish nature in all its wildness, forgotten paths, the scent of pine in the morning dew, and who do not hesitate to pause and admire the breathtaking landscapes that unfold between the ridges and valleys of the Semois.
