StarTrack Junior Team mission is to empower New York City children ages 8-14 from under-resourced communities. At Kissena Velodrome in Flushing, Queens, Star Track educates children via the discipline of track cycling, setting goals, establishing team skills, and helping them gain self-confidence. Our goal is to empower and engage children with healthy physical activity and provide kids with positive perspectives to help manage the daily stress that kids face every day.
In sport, a key value is the education of discipline associated with being an athlete. The children set goals, participate in a weekly training schedule and become part of a competitive cycling team. Another key value is the benefit of education through our mentors and by our experienced coaches. These include former World Champions, US National Champions and Star Track graduates.
