Wells Ave Crit
The Eastern Collegiate Cycling Conference and New England Devo
present!
A Wells Of A Different Color!
If you want to join in on a full weekend of double crit racing, we recommend joining our sister event, Buzz The Tower! Day before at Ninigret crit course, all part of a great kickoff to New England Bike Racing!
Wells Ave Crit is a training race and meeting point for the greater Boston bike racing community. First run in 1981 by the Boston Road Club, Wells Ave is currently hosted by New England Development. All proceeds support junior racers and are greatly appreciated. Our goal is to provide a place to learn and improve your racing skills, both in practice and from the experience of the community. As a funding source for junior development, we keep the frills and costs to a minimum
Rights reserved to consolidate or eliminate fields where minimum field size is too low to be competitive.
The Eastern Collegiate Cycling Conference is a non profit organization dedicated to fostering a competitive and inclusive environment for collegiate bike racing and the grassroots ecosystem it’s a part of. One of eleven national conferences and older than even USA Cycling, our goal is to offer opportunities for our racers to have fun racing bikes and develop the skills to be winners, on and off the bike. The ECCC is incredibly grateful for New England Development for letting the ECCC host a full day of racing at Wells!
Content Factory Racing is offering photo headshots of either you or your team on race day! Great way of having a memento to kick off the 2025 race season. Rate is $15/person for USAC Racers and $10/person for ECCC Racers. Use either the link below or during registration to let us know how many you’d like in your photoshoot! https://calendly.com/grant-contentfactory
Automobile Traffic:The volume of traffic coming to Wells Ave. on Sunday mornings has increased over the past few years. Businesses are familiar with our event since it has been there longer than any of the tenants! As with any bicycle race, especially a training event, your safety is paramount. We have a staff of marshals to keep traffic flowing in the proper direction. You are still required to pay attention, be courteous, and keep your eyes peeled for cars on the course. If one should appear in front of the field the field is neutralized until the car exits the course. DO NOT PASS THE CARS, we do not care if there is a break up the road. If there is a car on the straight during a prime or finishing sprint, the sprint will be neutralized and the prize will be delayed one lap.
**Conduct:**Poor sportsmanship, foul language, unsafe riding or violence WILL NOT be tolerated at Wells at all. The Chief Official has the right to remove a rider from a race or Wells Ave. that he/she feels demonstrates any of these conditions. Any rider that is removed from Wells Ave. will be reported to the USA Cycling Regional Director
Along with the Standard waiver there is also the ECCC Code of Conduct waiver that all riders need to sign
All USA Cycling rules apply, including use of approved helmets, jerseys with shoulders and NO Aerobars are allowed.
