No USA Cycling or USA Triathlon license is required for this race

RACE DATES

This race date is Saturday, April 19 2025.

REGISTRATION for Individual TT:

Day of registration will available and close 10 minutes before race starts. Don’t sign up for 2 races - we don’t have enough race time for doubles! Please sign up online to speedup registration process and to avoid possible errors and late registration fee.

You can transfer your registration for free to anyone else. Text me in advance if you need to cancel your registration.

Fields with 4 or less people registered may be combined - invite your friends!

 

START TIMES

for preregistered people will be sent by email by 8.00pm the night before. Please make sure you have correct email in your BikeReg account. Day of registration people will follow preregistered people.

SCHEDULE

7.20am - Safety talk and group photo at the start

7.30am - Duathlon start (our 2nd event)

7.32am - first Individual Bike Time Trial start

7.50am - last Individual Bike Time Trial start

9.00am - Awarding Ceremony by Beach 84st bus stop for Top-3 Overall iTT Men and Women in addition to each field.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR iTT

Riders MUST start with 1 foot on the ground on the whistle. Riders MUST cross finish line and tell their bib number (sometimes hard to read) for their result being precisely recorded.

Please keep road clear for other park users while waiting in the line for start.

Start and Finish will be at Boardwalk by Beach 84th street. Check Strava Segment here. Making 2 laps. U-turn for bicycles will be at Beach 19th street around green traffic cone with U-turn sign on it** where boardwalk splits.**

 

BICYCLE REQUIREMENTS

In the Non TT Bike Category, riders in this class will compete without Aero Bars or extensions. Disc wheels, spoke covers, and other forms of solid construction “Aero Wheels” such as Trispoke and Spinergy are not permitted. Bicycles shall conform to USAC rules for Mass Start Bicycles. Skinsuits are allowed and any USAC legal helmet may be worn. Example: You are welcome to use TT bike with aero bars and disk wheel in “Cat 4-5” field, but not allowed to use them in “Non-TT Bike Cat 4-5” field.

NUMBERS

 

Must be pinned on Right side of the rider’s jersey.  Incorrect placement of numbers may lead to incorrect/missing results.

AWARDS

Overall winners will receive a 12-can box of C4 Performance energy drinks.

Top-3 from each field must report to the podium area 20 minutes after race is over for awards and media. Racers must be present for the podium ceremony to receive prizes. Racers not present will forfeit their prizes. Podium will be set according social distancing requirements.

RESULTS

Should be available by registration desk 15 minutes after race finish. 5 minutes protest period. Will be posted at Road-Results.com, Verrazano Team Facebook page and emailed to you normally within 48 hours.

COURSE

Perfectly flat and smooth 2 laps (11.5mi) on Rockaway Beach bordwalk between B84st and B19st**. Strava Segment is here. **Please arrive in advance to get familiar with race course and setup. Race course is open to public and delimited by signs, cones and marshals at every critical spot.

DIRECTIONS

By car: Follow GPS to 8400 Shore Front Pkwy, Rockaway Beach, NY 11693. Please note, that free parking is NOT available in that area after May 15 and before Oct 1. In the summer free parking should be available at Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge.

**Riding bicycle: **Ride to Beach 84th Street on Rockaway Beach boardwalk.

**Public Transportation: **No A trains are running through May 2025! Get ready to ride 7 miles on Cross Bay Pkwy from Howard Beach station to the start line. Note: take pedestrian path on your left on toll bridge (2nd bridge).

PARKING

There is free weekend parking on streets in the area between October 1st and May 14th. Also, public parking lot is located at B94 street.

Free parking on the street may be available at Beach Channel Dr between B115 and B92nd streets on both sides.

You can also park at Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge in the Summer (May 15 - Sep 30) - the easiest place to park and no toll.

WATER, RESTROOMS & TRASH

You can pick up a free bottle of water in the cooler inside race organizer’s van or use water fountain at the finish spot. Statinary restrooms should be open by 8am at B84st. Please use trash receptacle by registration desk or any of park’s trash cans.

NOTES

  1. You race on your own risk. We just help you to record your result precisely.

  2. Race course is open pedestrians, joggers and bikes. Please be careful.

  3. This race may be cancelled by Race Organizers due to severe weather conditions etc. Notification of race being cancelled will be sent no later than 8pm the night before race.
