Trooper David Brinkerhoff Memorial/Army Cycling Classic Road Race

This Race is dedicated to the memory of NYS Trooper David Brinkerhoff who was killed in the line of duty on April 25, 2007.The Brinkerhoff Series is back for another great year of Spring racing. Once again, we are hosting two days of races in Coxsackie. The first day of races will be on Saturday, April 11. The second race day will be on Saturday, May 2. (Register for the 2nd race day here.)

On April 11, the Capital Bicycle Racing Club (CBRC) is teaming up with the Army West Point Cycling Team to host an expanded Trooper David Brinkerhoff Memorial Race. In addition to the fields that we have typically run, we will be hosting racers from the Eastern Collegiate Cycling Conference (ECCC). To accommodate the additional racers, we will be running two waves of fields, one starting at 10 am and the second starting at 12:30 pm.

By expanding the field for Week 1, we are able to:

  • Increase the prize money for the elite fields (P/1/2/3 and Women’s P/1/2/3) to $800 per field and expand the payouts to the first six places.

  • Run two separate women’s fields: a 4-lap (50 mile) race for P/1/2/3 riders and a 3-lap (38-mile) race for 4/5 riders.

  • Reinstate a two-lap (26 mile) race for Cat 5 (novice) riders.

  • Run dedicated races for Collegiate 3/4 and 4/5 riders.

  • Post separate results in the Masters 45+ and 55+ categories.

On Week 2 (May 2), we will be hosting our traditional 4-race day, consisting of three open fields - A (P,1,2,3), B (3, 4), C (4,5) - and a combined Women’s field.
