Glocknerkönig

On June 7, 2026, it’s that time again: the 29th Glocknerkönig invites all cycling enthusiasts to conquer the car-free Großglockner High Alpine Road (from 7:00 to 10:30 a.m.) by bike. Whether you’re an amateur, hobby cyclist, or professional – everyone can participate and take on the challenge. No license is required.

The two routes, Classic and Ultra, start directly in the town center of Bruck an der Großglocknerstraße. From here, an unforgettable adventure begins through one of Europe’s most spectacular mountain landscapes.

Classic: 27.3 km with 1,672 meters of elevation, finish at Fuscher Törl (2,428 m)

Ultra: 28.9 km with 1,815 meters of elevation, finish at Edelweißspitze (2,571 m)

Both routes feature gradients of 10–12%, demanding endurance, strength, and determination – and rewarding every pedal stroke with breathtaking panoramas and unforgettable moments. From 7:00 to 10:30 a.m., the Großglockner High Alpine Road is closed to car traffic. This means: full focus on your cycling adventure, uninterrupted riding, and maximum safety on the course.
