35th Annual Wilderness Road Ride Gran Fondo
Ride Summary:
**The Wilderness Road Ride gran fondo is Saturday, May 23, 2026. **A scenic and historical adventure through southwest Virginia’s beautiful New River Valley, the ride follows part of Daniel Boone’s Wilderness Road. This is a ride on paved roads for all ride levels to enjoy, with something for everyone— 5 routes to choose from ranging from a 26 mile relaxed journey for novices, to full century challenge for the fittest cyclist. This is a must ride for cyclists of all ages and athletic abilities.
Event Details:
All routes start and finish in Radford, at Bisset Park, Shelter #2. Non-riders can enjoy Bisset Park, the New River, and downtown Radford, while their families and friends are out riding. Fully supported rest stops will be positioned at regular intervals along the course and the start/finish location. Rest stops will be supplied with Heed Hammer Nutrition fuel, as well as water and plenty of other snacks.
***Group Start Times (optional) ***- This year we are offering group start times for those interested in joining others. Riders will gather in front of Shelter #2 Bisset Park at the “starting line” at a designated time: 7:00, 7:10, 7:20, 7:30, 7:40 and 8:00am. Those who sign up for the century and 80 miler must leave no later than 7:30.
E-bike option for the 26 mile route is available and will start at 7:30.
All pre-registered riders are guaranteed a technical t-shirt and other goodies.

Detailed maps and cue sheets will be available at the start of the ride.
Proceeds will benefit FCA Endurance ministries and missions projects. FCA is 501c-3 non-profit organization.
Rules:
Rolling Start from 6:45-8:30am, group start times also available.
Riders under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Riders under 8 must have permission in advance from race director.
ANSI or Snell Certified helmets required.
Refunds/Deferrals will be considered up to 14 days prior to the event. First option is to defer to next year.
