Vera → Calar Alto

From the coast at Vera into the Sierra de los Filabres, climbing through Cóbdar and over the Collado García before the serious work begins. The first category Alto de Velefique at nearly 1,800 metres precedes a descent to Bacares, and the stage ends on the long first category climb to the observatory at Calar Alto, above 2,100 metres, the highest finish of the race.
